SYPRE

by
The flexible solution for MEP

Say goodbye to manual tracking and
hello to efficiency with SYPRE

SYPRE revolutionizes parliamentary simulations by providing visible countdowns and relevant information, all while accurately documenting delegate interactions. Our goal is simple: to eliminate biases from selection processes and streamline the workload for teachers, allowing them to focus solely on assessing delegate contributions.

Key features

NO BIAS

With our data, we aim to eliminate any biases from the selection process.

PARLIAMENT

A real simulation of the parliament, wherever you want.

FLEXIBILITY

With SYPRE, you're not bound be fixed infrastructure or heavy equipment.

EASY TO USE

With its visual representation and interface, anyone can use SYPRE!

DATA COLLECTION

SYPRE makes it easier to accurately capture useable data for the evaluations.

SCALABILITY

You can use as many devices as you want, as long as they're connected to the same WiFi-network.

TRANSPARANCY

The recorded data and real-time displayed timers improve the transparency of a MEP-session.

LOG

A real-time logbook for teachers.

Setup

SYPRE is adaptable to almost every environment. You can choose which elements to use based on the location of your GA. Here, you'll find a brief description:

LAPTOP SYPRE ADMIN - REQUIRED

A laptop serves as the central control hub for the entire system. Using a visual representation of the seating layout connected to delegate positions, you select the speaker and log their activity. This includes registering questions, answers, and speeches. Once the timer is initiated, all screens automatically synchronize with accurate data and timing, eliminating the need for manual input.

MOBILE DEVICE

A mobile device placed on the speaker stand will serve as a prominent timekeeping tool, alerting the speaker as time runs out. Visual cues will escalate as time decreases: at 15 seconds, the display turns striking red, signalling urgency; in the final 5 seconds, the screen adopts a vivid red tint with pulsating white-dark blinking text until time elapses.

EXTERNAL SCREEN

The delegate’s name, type of speech, time left, and subject of the speech will be displayed on the big screen for everyone to see. This gives the needed transparency just like in a parliament, but also allows for easier evaluation. The ‘blond guy’ from Norway now has his name displayed, so evaluations can be way more precise and without confusion.

iMac

LAPTOP OF THE EVALUATOR - WEB BASED

The SYPRE LOG application is web-based, enabling teacher to have real-time access to the session’s log on all their screens – whether it’s a laptop, tablet or mobile phone. This eliminates the need for guesswork about who just spoke, allowing them to concentrate solely on the content. The log updates automatically, providing a smooth experience. An unlimited number of people can connect, provided they have the connection credentials provided by the SYPRE administrator.

Our story

This system was developed by Xander, as an idea after the MEP BSR-session in Szeged, 2022. The main goal is to bring more transparency to MEP-session, without the burden of a lot of administration; it should not be more complicated than counting who speaks how much on paper.

Leveraging his extensive experience in the corporate sector, where he specializes in developing applications for a multinational enterprise and crafting tailored solutions for smaller businesses, Xander created SYPRE.

The result is a simple-to-use program which can be used in all sorts of settings – necessary for MEPs, which are held at various locations. Since the introduction at MEP BELGIUM 2023, the system has been further developed and its functionality has greatly been improved.

Now, SYPRE can use the captured data real-time to simplify the evaluation process. Timers and data are shown in a simplistic way – just like in a parliament – whilst teachers can see a real-time log of who asked or answered a question, or gave a speech, thus ending the guessing game of who asked that one brilliant question.

Now that SYPRE is mature enough, it is time for its international debut. The premiere will be at WEMEP Lier 2024, but we fully believe in its potential to become the standard at international sessions.
